MD CEO Appointed by Government of India In Public Sector Bank in which 5 of them are from SBI. Government of India on 19th September appoints 10 CEO’s and MD’s .Padmaja Chundru As MD & CEO Of Indian Bank ,Mrutyunjay Mahapatra As MD & CEO Of Syndicate Bank Pallav Mohapatra As MD & CEO Of Central Bank , J Packirisamy As MD & CEO Of Andhra Bank ,SS Mallikarjuna Rao As MD & CEO Of Allahabad Bank. These are the five deputy managing directors in state bank of India who have been appointed as managing director in respective bank. 10 MD’s and CEOs of nationalized bank were accepted by the Appointment Committee headed by the Government of India. The Finance Minister did talk about filling the 30 high- level ropes at nationalized banks in the month of June
Atul Kumar Goel and S Harisnakar have been appointed MD and CEO in UCO Bank and Punjab & Sind Bank respectively. Goel is ED, Union Bank of India, and Hari Shankar is the Executive Director of Allahabad Bank. A S Rajeev, Executive Director of Indian Bank, MD and CEO of Bank of Maharashtra for an initial period of three years and extendable up to two years on the basis of his performance.
Meanwhile, as the government fills up vacancies at public sector banks, also planning to do so for the private sector banks too. They all, too, will have tenure till the date of their superannuation. Mohapatra and Packirisamy’s tenure will last till February 28, 2021.
The Banks Board Bureau, an advisory body formed by the government for top level appointments in the bank has recommended 14 bankers, including six deputy managing directors of SBI for appointment. Of the six, “These recommendations are based on interactions held by the Banks Board Bureau and are subject to various clearances. The Government of India will make the final decision on appointments,” the bureau added. Except C V Nageswar all other Deputy Managing Director have been appointed as MD and CEO of different state-owned banks, according to a statement issued by it on June 30. Shekhar will be the MD and CEO of Dena Bank till June 30, 2020.
